Selective Abortion Debate (Thankfully) Strikes at the Heart of our Materialist Foundations

The selective abortion debate lays bare the internal contradictions of the materialist, utilitarian mindset at the core of our cultural mindset.

If we explicitly refuse to place value on the fetus, then we have no legal or moral basis on which to say that it's wrong to destroy some fetuses and prefer others.

Our conscience knows that it's wrong to value one life more than another. By pretending that pre-born life is nothing but inanimate tissue (something we know to be false), we have boxed ourselves in morally.

The only way out is to recognize that all human life, including pre-born life - regardless of gender, ability or any other characteristic, has inherent value.

The alternative is the sociopathy of utilitarianism.
